Post 355 Donates $50,000 to Support Veterans and Disaster Relief Again

Updated: Jul 1

A year ago, American Legion Atkins Saw Post 355 in Indianapolis donated $55,000 to The American Legion National Emergency Fund (NEF). Post 355 Commander Dwayne Sloan explained the support was due to NEF’s direct benefit to veterans and their families.

On June 3, Sloan, on behalf of Post 355’s Legion Family, donated another $50,000 to NEF, presented to American Legion National Adjutant Rodney Rolland. Sloan emphasized the post’s commitment to helping veterans and posts affected by natural disasters, stating the unanimous support from their Legion Family.

The NEF provides financial aid to Legionnaires, posts, and Sons of The American Legion affected by natural disasters, offering up to $3,000 for individuals and $10,000 for posts. This donation is timely given recent and upcoming destructive weather.

Post 355 received a certificate of appreciation and other honors from American Legion National Commander Daniel Seehafer. Rolland commended their generosity, highlighting their true representation of the Legion Family’s values.
