Updated: 3 days ago

The Rockport, Indiana, American Legion Baseball team is headed to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. While Rockport finished as the runner-up in the Indiana State Tournament, their season stayed alive when state champion Funkhouser was unable to attend the regional tournament due to a scheduling conflict. Rockport stepped in as the replacement, making the most of the unexpected opportunity.

After battling through the regional competition in Carol Stream, Illinois, Rockport earned its place among the elite teams in the nation. The World Series begins this Thursday in Shelby, where Rockport will open play against Lincoln, Nebraska.

Fans can follow every pitch, as all games will be broadcast live on ESPN3 or ESPNU. With a mix of determination and talent, the team now sets its sights on bringing home a national title, proudly representing Rockport and the state of Indiana on the biggest stage in American Legion Baseball.
