Foundation Friday: Make Your Year-End Gift Count for Indiana Veterans and Youth

As the year comes to a close, on this Foundation Friday, we want to take a moment to pause, reflect, and look forward together.

Throughout this year, the Indiana American Legion Foundation has worked statewide to ensure veterans, military families, and future generations of Hoosiers receive the support they need to live with stability, dignity, and opportunity. None of this work happens without the generosity of donors who believe in service, patriotism, and community.

Because of that support, the Foundation has helped provide emergency financial assistance to Hoosier veterans facing unexpected hardship, strengthened accredited service officer support so veterans can access earned benefits, and expanded youth leadership programs that shape the next generation of civic leaders. These efforts are not abstract. They represent real people, real families, and real lives changed across Indiana.

As the year comes to a close, the need continues. Veterans still face financial crises, benefit claims still require advocacy, and young Hoosiers still need leadership opportunities rooted in service. A year-end gift to the Indiana American Legion Foundation ensures this critical work continues into the new year and beyond.

Year-end contributions are especially powerful. They provide flexible support that allows the Foundation to respond quickly to urgent needs, sustain proven programs, and plan strategically for long term impact across the state.

If you are considering a tax-deductible charitable gift before December 31, we invite you to support the Indiana American Legion Foundation. Your generosity honors service, strengthens communities, and helps ensure no veteran or family is left behind.

Thank you for being part of the mission. Stay tuned for upcoming Foundation Friday stories highlighting the people, programs, and partnerships made possible through your support.

Make your year-end gift today and help carry this work forward into the new year.

The Indiana American Legion Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for your charitable gift. A receipt acknowledging your donation will be provided for your records.

I really liked how the article showed the real impact the Indiana American Legion Foundation has had this year by helping veterans with financial support, claims assistance, and youth leadership programs — it made the work feel very personal and important to the whole community. Back when I was swamped with writing and had to figure out how to pay for dissertation UK fees on my own, I felt grateful for every bit of support I got, just like the veterans rely on help here. It made me think more about how giving back at the end of the year can make a lasting difference for people who served and for young leaders who are just starting out.

It is truly moving to read about the dedication and service shared within this community, as it reminds me of the importance of discipline and togetherness. Back home in the Midlands, I find that same sense of shared purpose as the community prepares for iftar time birmingham each evening. These moments of reflection at the end of a long day really highlight the strength we find when we support one another through our traditions.
