The annual Close of Books for the Department of Indiana is scheduled for Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette, Indiana.
Where: Indiana Veterans Home Auditorium - 3851 N. River Rd., West Lafayette, IN 47906
When: 0900h to 1400h
Card turn-in will be conducted from 1000h to Noon in the main auditorium. Close of Books is the final card turn-in for the 2022-2023 membership year. Staff members will only receive and process final memberships for the current year. No changes, corrections or other forms will be processed, and unused cards will not be accepted.
District Commanders: You are required to pickup your 2023-2024 membership cards at 0900h at the main auditorium.
Forms Deadline: All forms must be submitted to the Department or National by June 2, 2023, or delivered to District Commanders for turn-in at the Close of Books in order to receive your card. Forms may be brought by posts to Close of Books to receive cards.
Additional activities include meetings with outgoing and incoming department and district officers, program and awards meetings, a special recognition program will occur in the auditorium following the turn-in.
Judging: Public Relations Committee - Talbert Award - 1030h at Lawrie Library.
0900 District Commanders & Staff arrive - D.C.'s pick up cards
1000 - 1200 Posts arrive and receive cards from District Commanders, turn in last minute renewals, new members, and end of year forms.
1030 - 1100 Outgoing officer meeting in Pyle Conference Room 103
1100 - 1130 Incoming officer meeting in Pyle Basement B11
1200 - 1300 Lunch in shelter*
1230 - 1330 Formal Program at Shelter
1400 - 1530 ALA Bingo in auditorium
