![]() Indianapolis – The American Legion is hosting a veterans’ benefits seminar at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 free to the public at Burton Woolery Post 18 in Bloomington Indiana located at 1800 W 3rd St., Bloomington, Ind., 47404. The informational seminar will feature Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Superintendent Alan J. Burnham to discuss burial benefits for veterans and their spouses. The Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Madison, Ind., is dedicated to Veterans and their families as a lasting memorial, and final resting place, in appreciation and gratitude for their service and sacrifice to our nation. Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Disability Law Clinic Director Carwina Weng will be there to provide guidance to veterans on completing their final wills. The clinic also provides free services to veterans who seek a discharge upgrade or a correction to their military record in order to receive VA benefits. “We invite all of our veterans to come out and learn about the benefits their entitled to for their military service,” said Cmdr. James B. May, top officer of the American Legion in Indiana and member of Post 18. “These benefits extend to spouses and include a free burial plot, liner, opening and closing services, and a government issued marker. Veterans and family members are encouraged to bring their discharge paperwork with them. Applications for grave plots and informative handouts will be available.
