The American Legion, Department of Indiana and the Indiana Teamsters 135 are working to collect supplies and donations in preparation for Hurricane Irma and in response to Hurricane Harvey. The teamsters donated a 53’ trailer, currently staged at Indiana Legion Headquarters in Indianapolis, to be loaded with public donations and driven directly to where the need is greatest next Wednesday, September 13, after Hurricane Irma is projected to make landfall. Legionnaires are on-hand at 5440 Herbert Lord Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46216, M-F from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday, September 10, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. to collect donations in conjunction with “Legion Day” a family-oriented day scheduled to honor veterans and observe Patriot Day.
